Zoom TOO MUCH! // LAST PARTY @ MERCAT BASEMENT // FT. DIZZ1 // 29 JULY
As you can read from the title this will be our last party at the Mercat Basement. We are going to be taking a break for a month or so and then coming back with something new! We would like to thank everyone at the Mercat for the support they have given us, without them Too Much! would not exist and we wouldn’t be able to push the bass music that we love, so big up them! For this party we have assembled a special line up with some of Melbourne if not Australia’s best local talent. Headlining the night will be one of Too Much’s favourite artists, Dizz1. Dizz1 has been blowing up all over the place. From playing at Sonar 2010, attending the Red Bull Music Academy in Spain and getting air play from Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B on BBC Radio. He has collaborated in the studio with Om’Mas Keith (Sa-Ra Creative Partners), Mark Pritchard (Harmonic 313) and Steve Spacek (Africa Hitech) and Stereotyp (Crunchtime Records) as well as forming a new live project with DJ Dexter called ‘Curse The Machines’.Also on the night is two of Melbourne’s finest taste makers, RAMBL (RRR) & Declan Kelly, who have supported the likes of Theo Parish, Benji B & Prefuse 73 to name a few. Expect to hear an eclectic set of techno, wonky, house, dubstep and what ever else these two are feeling at the moment. Opening the night will be Glasgow’s Tony Black who hosts the beat delivery on PBS which pushes some of the finest underground bass music the world has to offer. To round things off Too Much! collective members Naise, Woz, David Bass, Cheeks and birthday boy Same O will be throwing down a wide selection of wonky, house, garage dubstep and what ever else seems to fit the moment. This is set to be one hell of a night and for only $12 there is no excuse not to come down and say good bye to the venue that helped get Too Much! to what it is today. For now Too Much! will be taking a break but we will be back! Keep your ear to the streets.
